James Cameron was recently quoted as saying this was an incorrect assumption. Of course, if one were to trust the words of Cameron one would find themselves in a cesspool of cliché. I choose to trust his innovations instead.

Just looked it up! Timothy Hutton for Ordinary People. I DID know that and I LOVE that movie. So there ya go.

Well…I think Actress was Marlee Matlin for Children of a Lesser God
Actor was Adrien Brody for The Pianist
Supporting Actress was Tatum O’Neil for Paper Moon
And Supporting Actor was…I don’t know. I just don’t know. Probably an actor I don’t know anything about.
will sometimes send me emails just quizzing me on my movie knowledge. The latest one she sent asked me who were the oldest actors to win the four acting Oscars. I got all but one right…Peggy Ashcroft won supporting actress for A Passage to India at the age of 77, and I put Ruth Gordon for Rosemary’s Baby. Of course, Gordon won that honor in 1968 when she was 72 and held that title until Ashcroft won in 1984.
